Looking ahead, Hale will ensure digitalundivided remains a home for Black and Latinx women entrepreneurs as a part of her expansive vision. Her main area of focus includes connecting with founders, and she has already started the process to understand what actions will be required to best address their needs.
“I scheduled 1:1s with our founders because I wanted to understand their individual challenges and how best we can support them as they scale,” Hale explained to AfroTech. “Unequivocally, our founders voiced a desire for greater connection to other founders within the digitalundivided community, guidance as they prepare for advancement throughout our programs, and mentorship. I’ll be focused on providing previously unexplored pathways to funding, building out community platforms, and guiding our founders as they explore their journeys as leaders and their relationship with and to power.”
What's Ahead
As for what’s ahead for the nonprofit, Hale states digitalundivided will be working to craft original content that will address concerns commonly shared by founders.
In addition, there will be events and resources provided throughout the year like InvestHER — in partnership with the Nasdaq Foundation — that will connect diverse founders and funders to discuss equity and inclusivity as it relates to innovation, investing, and entrepreneurship.
Furthermore, the Glow Up! program, created in partnership with Groupon, is on the way. Founders in the Atlanta area can look forward to a three-week business strategy in the beauty, health, and wellness industries.
Hale also reveals the biennial report, ProjectDiane, is being prepared to reveal information regarding the state of Latina and Black women founders in the tech and innovation ecosystem.
This is only a snapshot of the in-depth work ahead. All in all, Hale hope’s while stewarding the ship at the nonprofit, digitalundivided will build on their mission to financially empower minority women founders.
“We’re building a community dedicated to our founders where they can safely connect and bridge their understanding of options when it comes to building capital and scaling their businesses,” Hale told AfroTech.
