AT&T continues to lead the charge when it comes to paving the way for future Black changemakers!

The network has announced the top 25 honorees from its inaugural Dream in Black Rising Future Makers class made up of students who currently attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

“This year’s applicants were the strongest submissions we’ve received to date and their stories spoke to the core mission we seek to amplify through our AT&T Dream In Black initiatives,” said Angela Burgin, AT&T Director of Marketing and Special Experiences in an official press release shared with AfroTech. “We are thrilled to recognize this dynamic group of students for their amazing accomplishment and support them in furthering their dreams as future leaders in their communities.”

The Initiative

Each of the 25 Black Rising Future Makers will receive $5,000 presented by AT&T 5G. They will also receive AT&T technology products and services along with access to VIP advocates that include NBA Champion and fellow HBCU Student, J.R. Smith, and actress and entrepreneur, La La Anthony, as they work toward their journey to creating a historic change that the world needs to see.

All 25 recipients will be honored during a special event held in Greensboro, NC on Dec. 11, where they will be greeted by special guests.

Honorees will also be invited to more intimate events at various AT&T retail stores across the nation, where they can pick up their prize packaging, get the chance to mix and mingle with their community and enjoy dance performances, live music and more.
