50 Cent has made it clear that he’s ready to collect his coins in a timely manner.
Back in August 2022, the New York Post reported that one of the rap mogul’s former Sire Spirits employees secretly stole millions, according to court papers.
In February 2020, Mitchell Green, who was previously the spirits company’s Director of Brand Management, allegedly increased the prices of the product and was “getting kickbacks from wholesalers to the tune of $2.2 million in so-called ‘agency fees,’ per Manhattan Federal Court records.”
Following two years of allegedly stealing money from 50 Cent, the outlet details that Green confessed because someone threatened to expose him.
The outlet reported, “An arbitrator found Green liable for the money he pocketed, along with another $948,096 paid to a wholesaler, and ordered him to pay another $2.7 million in attorney’s fees, costs and damages for a whopping total of $6.2 million, court records show.”
Then, in June 2022, a Manhattan judge confirmed the arbitrator’s decision.
However, Green petitioned to appeal the ruling, which was denied and led to an additional charge of $89,305.50 in attorney’s fees in November of that year.
Now, 50 Cent is doubling down on getting paid his dues.
On Instagram, he reposted an article with the headline “50 Cent Ready To Seize Ex-Employee’s Property Over $6M Lawsuit.”
“Look I’m a need that by Monday!” 50 Cent wrote in his caption.
The reposted HipHopDX article sourced AllHipHop, which reported that if Green fails to pay the $6.2 million, 50 Cent is allegedly set to “seize his bank accounts, personal property, and any assets he might have to satisfy the massive judgment.”
What’s more, Sire Spirits is suing Michael Caruso, his wife, Gina, Caruso’s employer Beam Suntory (owner of Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark), and more for being involved in the alleged embezzlement scheme, according to the New York Post.
