LeBron James’ foundation is supporting its community to the fullest.

In 2023, the LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF) will open the I Promise HealthQuarters — a multimillion-dollar Akron medical facility.

I Promise HealthQuarters

The new community health and wellness center is dedicated to bringing affordable healthcare and mental health services to LeBron’s hometown.

“When our families expressed a need for more health care services…we went to work,” LJFF wrote via Instagram. “Today, we’ve come together with 3 organizations, axesspointe, colemanservices, & Peg’s Foundation to create I Promise HealthQuarters to offer a variety of services ALL under one roof.”

The announcement went on in further detail that the center will offer medical, dental, optometry, mental health, pharmaceutical, and lab services. To make it even more accessible, the one-stop facility isn’t only available to I Promise students and families, but to the entire community. Additionally, I Promise HealthQuarters is right near other I Promise institutions.

“As we continue to listen and respond to what our families need, our work continues to expand in ways we never dreamed of,” executive director of LJFF Michele Campbell said, according to Complex. “Access to affordable health care has always been a critical need for our families – and further heightened by the pandemic – so we began rallying our community to bring the experts together under one trusted roof. Being able to provide this important resource for the entire community is only possible because we have incredible partners that share our We Are Family philosophy.”

In February, LJFF announced a venture that’s also expected to open its doors in 2023. As previously shared by AfroTech, the foundation partnered with Old El Paso to open their first-ever restaurant — The Taco Shop by Old El Paso. The dining establishment is set to both feed and employ I PROMISE families.

“Opening our own restaurant is a whole new territory for my Foundation that I’m really excited about,” James said in a press release. “What started as a weekly taco night for families living in our I PROMISE Village has grown into so much more with The Taco Shop by Old El Paso. It’s incredible to now have a space where families can come together and share a meal while students and families also have the opportunity to gain important job training. We can’t wait for these doors to open to the community.”
