According to the company website, Odom Senior Care was created in response to the difficulty that exists when looking for quality affordable care for seniors. Odom is working to change this, and the facility promises to deliver a “full spectrum of long-term residential care at affordable prices.”

“2x NBA Champion Lamar Odom, and a doting grandson to 96-year-old, Florence, Lamar Odom understands that finding the right care and understanding pricing in the senior care industry is a nightmare. Lamar is on a journey to help simplify this process for all seniors, and is providing long-term assisted living and memory care solutions that provide the best value for the money,” a statement on the company website read.

Currently, Odom Senior Care has two locations, Oxnard and Long Beach, CA. In the future, he plans to provide pre-negotiated rates to 1,000 communities across the country.

Odom’s latest venture follows the announcement of his acquisition of facilities in partnership with Dontae Ralston and Dennis Martinez to jumpstart Odom Wellness Treatment Centers in California. As AfroTech previously mentioned, the rehabilitation centers will provide restoration through detox, inpatient care, outpatient programming, and housing.

Odom, who had a near-fatal overdose in October 2015, which led to 12 seizures, six strokes and heart failure, is using his time to improve the lives of others.

“When God had saved me from that accident, I was trying to find my purpose—and I think I may have found it,” Odom said, according to TMZ Live. “I know I have found it.”

He continued, “For me to have rehabilitation centers and wellness centers is a big deal. I want to put them everywhere. Drugs are bad everywhere.”
