Hit-Boy is embarking on making history with one of the most beloved sports video games.

EA Sports Taps Hit-Boy

On the heels of his work featured on Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” and The Game’s “Drillmatic: Heart Vs. Mind,” the Grammy award-winning producer was tapped to serve as the music curator for EA Sports’ Madden NFL 23, according to Billboard.

What’s more, Boardroom reports that it’s the first time that the video game soundtrack has been produced by one artist in franchise history.

A Dream Come True

VIBE reports that the soundtrack will feature Nas, Kendrick Lamar, Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa, Erica Banks, Cordae, and more.

“Never would’ve thought as a kid I’d be able to score my favorite game,” he shared in the Madden 23 teaser, according to the outlet. “Madden been one of my great loves since day one. Like music, I just couldn’t escape my obsession for the game. The way it brought to life the sights and sounds and feelings of a Sunday. The unforgettable music the game gave us.”

He added: “Even in the studio where I created Grammy-winning records, the game was never too far away. Now my worlds collide as I curate the sounds of Madden 23.”

Opening Doors For Upcoming Producers

Ahead of his role as the music curator for Madden, Hit-Boy joined UnitedMasters in May for its Beat Exchange — a curated marketplace to buy and sell beats. As previously shared by AfroTech, the platform aims to help producers take creative ownership.

“I got my start making beats in my bedroom and putting them online on Myspace,” said Hit-Boy said, at the time.

He continued: “I know the struggle and how hard it can be as an emerging producer. Working with UnitedMasters, I want young producers and artists to have what I didn’t. UnitedMasters will give emerging producers the right tools, exposure, and access to brands to help their careers blow up.”
