Searching for beats can be a daunting task for musicians, but this new platform aims to make it an easier process.
UnitedMasters and Grammy Award-winning producer Hit-Boy have joined forces for Beat Exchange — a curated marketplace to buy and sell beats — per a press release shared with AfroTech.
The new marketplace will allow for the music distributor’s independent artists to have the ability to still discover beats with specific sounds they desire, but more efficiently.
Along with Hit-Boy, they will have access to beats from top producers including Turbo, Sham “Sak Paso” Joseph, Kato On The Track, and David Morse.
“Producers determine the sounds of our era, and yet they often get overlooked. Our goal has always been to give independent artists the best-in-class tools to build sustainable and successful music industry careers. Now we’re not only giving producers the access to artists but the recognition they deserve as creators,” said UnitedMasters Founder and CEO Steve Stoute. “The Beat Exchange is another way we’re challenging the status quo, by directly connecting brilliant artists and producers so they can continue taking ownership of their creative journeys.”
Opportunities For Producers
According to the press release, the platform is set to benefit participating producers with ownership, licensing, brands + sync, and curated discovery. From having the option to keep 100 percent of beat sales to exclusive opportunities to monetize beats, producers are being prepped for success in the industry.
“I got my start making beats in my bedroom and putting them online on Myspace,” said Hit-Boy, who has gone on to work with the likes of Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Drake, and more.
He continued: “I know the struggle and how hard it can be as an emerging producer. Working with UnitedMasters, I want young producers and artists to have what I didn’t. UnitedMasters will give emerging producers the right tools, exposure, and access to brands to help their careers blow up.”
