Jasmine Crowe-Houston’s Goodr is officially on wheels.
On March 8, after nearly three years in the making, the Atlanta-based food waste startup launched its mobile grocery store.
“This vision started in 2020 and took two years to get all the funding and see it officially come to life,” Crowe-Houston shared in a tweet. “Thank you so much @amazon @Verizon @MARTAservice @WellstarHealth @Mailchimp!”

With the help of the new mobile truck, the founder and CEO aims to take Goodr’s mission of combating food insecurity to the masses.
“The Goodr Mobile Grocery Store is a shoppable 26-foot truck stocked with grocery items, including fresh produce, milk, eggs, and shelf-stable items — all for free,” she also said via Twitter. “The truck aims to bring Goodr’s signature free grocery shopping experience to even more food insecure communities.”
Prior to the launch of the mobile grocery store, Goodr raised funding to expand its support. As previously reported by AfroTech, the startup closed an $8 million Series A funding round in June 2022 — bringing its total funding to $9.4 million. The round was led by Precursor Ventures and included participation from Collab Capital, Gratitude Railroad, Emerson Collective, Backstage Capital, and more.
“I am thankful to the many investors that believed in Goodr for contributing to this milestone for our company,” Crowe-Houston said in a statement at the time. “We have been very capital efficient over the last five years reaching millions in annual revenue with a team of just five people for years. I look forward to growing our team, expanding to new markets and building new products to end hunger and help businesses reduce food waste. It’s an exciting time for all of us here at Goodr.”
