There’s one more reason for Dwyane Wade to celebrate.

The former NBA player recently gave a heart-felt speech at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, acknowledging the trail he’s blazed in the world of basketball.

A five-time NBA finals participant with the Miami Heat, Wade holds three championship rings. He is regarded as one of the greatest two-way guards in the league’s history.

His dominance will continue post retirement. As AfroTech previously told you, he has a growing empire alongside his wife, Gabrielle Union, which includes real estate and  Proudly, an affordable skincare and diaper line for Black and brown babies, among others.

Wade also owns stake in the NBA’s Utah Jazz, and he says the feat goes “way beyond the dream I had to just play basketball in the NBA,” according to ESPN.

Most recently, Wade is moving forward with a new venture, which is a head nod to his career as an athlete and his journey ahead. In partnership with California-based cannabis brand Jeeter, Wade is releasing “Hall of Fame,” a limited-edition offering of pre-rolls with strains handpicked by Wade himself, the company website reads.

The product’s packaging resembles a basketball, and when opened it will display a locker room showcasing his accomplishments.

Inside, there will be three strains:

  • Wade Rozay (hybrid)
  • Flashberry    (indica)
  • Red Punch    (sativa)

“Hall of Flame celebrates this milestone and is a salute to who I was as a basketball player, who I am today, and who I will become,” Wade said, according to Forbes.

Jeeter stated on the launch site, “Commemorating Dwyane Wade’s 16-year memorable basketball career, and his induction to the Hall of Fame, Jeeter is proud to present the limited edition ‘Hall of Flame’ boutique drop. This exclusive collaboration includes 3 Jeeter baby cannons, featuring 3 exclusive strains hand selected by Dwyane Wade himself. This commemorative packaging will take you down memory lane highlighting every notable accomplishment pre and post his basketball retirement.”

Forbes reports “Hall of Flame” will be available for purchase beginning on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, in California, Michigan, and Arizona. The manufactured suggested retail price is $80.

To keep the momentum, 15 boxes autographed by the Miami Heat legend will be distributed to the first five customers at the following three dispensaries on Aug. 19:

  • Purple Lotus in San Jose, CA
  • Wellgreens Cares in San Diego, CA
  • Curaleaf in Scottsdale, AZ
