The fight for the NBA Championship is underway as the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics played Game 1 on June 2. Following the Warriors’ loss, power forward Draymond Green was adamant about his perspective of “We’ll be fine.”

The instance of his spirit not being easily shaken is reminiscent of another ambitious take he shared back in 2019.

Draymond Green's Long-Term Goal

The 29-year-old, at the time, said he wanted to become a billionaire by age 40, according to CNBC. Per the outlet, in 2015 he signed a five-year, $82 million contract with the Warriors — in addition to an estimated $4 million in endorsements.

Three years after his announcement, the now 32-year-old is on a four-year, $100 million maximum contract with Golden State that he signed in 2019, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski

Along with his Warriors salary, yearly endorsements, and a reported net worth of $50 million, let’s take a look at a few of Green’s investments that could potentially lead to his dream becoming a reality.

SmileDirectClub

According to Forbes, Green made a smart move when he invested in SmileDirectClub in 2015 at a $150 million valuation.

“In this instance, it was a product I loved and used firsthand, so when an opportunity came to invest, it was a no-brainer for me because I knew it would be successful because I had success using it,” Green said, according to the outlet. “We’re all looking for that investment of 20x, 30x and it’s so rare to do. Up until that point in my life, Smile Direct Club was the biggest investment I ever made and really the first or second investment I made. For that to be so successful is like a dream come true.”

Blink Fitness

Next up on Green’s savvy investments is his partnership with Blink Fitness. The Michigan native’s goal to bring affordable options for fitness to underserved communities transformed into him investing in 20 Blink Fitness gyms.

Lobos 1707

Based on a CB Insights report, Green invested in Lobos 1707 in 2020. A fellow investor in the spirits brand is LeBron James, who recently made history as the first active NBA player to become a billionaire.

UNINTERRUPTED

Speaking of the trailblazer, Green is also an investor in James’ company UNINTERRUPTED, a platform within Springhill Company that is valued at an estimated $750 million.
