The dream collaboration everyone has been waiting for arrived yesterday and sent the entire internet into a frenzy. Social media wasn’t prepared for the cultural reset brought on by Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion’s remix of hit single, “Savage,” but all the commotion was for a good cause.

According to CNN, the two Houston natives joined forces to create a hit and donate all proceeds from the song to Bread of Life, a disaster relief organization working to provide meals to Houston families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

BeyGOOD, a charitable initiative led by Beyoncé, has been lending a helping hand to healthcare and essential workers on the frontlines of our global pandemic.

“Beyoncé’s BeyGOOD recognizes the immense mental and personal health burdens being placed on essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic,” a representative for the singer said in a statement reported by ESSENCE. “In our major cities, African-Americans comprise a disproportionate number of workers in these indispensable occupations, and they will need mental health support and personal wellness care, including testing and medical services, food supplies and food deliveries, both during and after the crisis.”

The “Savage Remix,” like many of Beyoncé’s releases, arrived without any previous promotion. The musical alliance is what everyone hoped it would be after a photo of the two and Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy, surfaced on New Year’s Day.

The new rendition of the original “Savage” track, which sparked a viral TikTok dance challenge from over 19 million users, inspired another dance challenge from the original TikTok creator.

Based on the reactions from fans all over the world, the “Savage Remix” is sure to be just as impactful as the original song.
