Innovation At The Forefront

This year’s conference lived up to its promise, showcasing the forefront of technological innovation. Attendees got a first-hand look at product demos from SnapChat, showcasing its latest hardware, and NVIDIA, which wowed the crowd with groundbreaking 3D imaging technology. The Learning Labs offered AI demonstrations and outlooks for the future, with Google unveiling its advanced Gemini AI for writing, planning, and learning.

The Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence stage featured panels dedicated to workforce development and reskilling, addressing the needs of rapidly evolving industries. Attendees of this inaugural stage walked away with practical tools and actionable insights, ready to navigate and lead in the ever-changing tech landscape.

Building Wealth & Empowering Entrepreneurs

AFROTECH™ goes beyond technology — it’s a launchpad for building wealth and empowering entrepreneurs. This year’s event offered unmatched access to resources, strategic partnerships, and opportunities to attract investments and scale businesses to new heights.

A standout moment was Hannah Bronfman’s announcement of a new fund dedicated to supporting women- and Black-owned startups. Acknowledging the challenges of today’s social climate, she underscored her unwavering commitment to advancing equity and empowering high-impact ventures through access to capital.

Meanwhile, Derrick Johnson, president of the NAACP, kicked off the opening stage session by announcing the newly launched NAACP Capital. This initiative is a $200 million fund of funds designed to support Black fund managers and close racial equity gaps.

A Movement You Can’t Ignore

AFROTECH™ ’s growing influence proves why it is a prime destination for brands looking to connect with a vibrant, forward-thinking audience. This year, AT&T, McDonald’s, Lexus, and Mars launched dynamic marketing campaigns, leveraging the influence and creativity of the AFROTECH™ community.

Brands understand the immense value of aligning with AFROTECH™’s vision of innovation, entrepreneurship, and cultural excellence. With a roster of both emerging and established brands, it’s clear why. Add to that powerhouse speakers like Colin Kaepernick, will.i.am, T.I., Gabrielle Wesley, Scottie Beam, and Melissa Bradley offering wisdom and insight.

A Celebration Of Culture

The business of tech may have been the focus, but AFROTECH™  believes in providing space for people to celebrate their milestones and success. The conference wrapped up with the Blavity House Party Block Party, featuring performances from Bun B, Jagged Edge, Slim Thug, Mike Jones, and more.

During the block party, the City of Houston recognized the conference’s impact with an official proclamation, highlighting AFROTECH™ ’s role in empowering Black professionals and fostering innovation.

Looking ahead, AFROTECH™ isn’t slowing down. The conference will return to Houston, TX, in 2025, with even more to offer.
