2 Chainz is moving on to bigger and better as the rapper and his business partner Mychel “Snoop” Dillard have begun to franchise their Esco Restaurant and Tapas.
The news follows after settling a lawsuit filed in 2020 by the family of the late Pablo Escobar. AllHipHop previously reported the family had an issue with the use of the last name for 2 Chainz’s Escobar Restaurant and Tapas Diners.
However, a decision was reportedly reached outside of court for 2 Chainz and Dillard to give $15,000 to Escobar Inc.
Expansion Plans On The Way
Now, 2 Chainz can keep his foot on the gas and proceed with his plans in the hospitality industry that he started years ago and credits his business partner for.
“She’s one of the people that really made my transition into this hospitality space easier because, originally my introduction to the space was real estate. I own properties and dirt and stuff like that,” 2 Chainz said, according to Franchise Times. “So that merged with her passion and mine and made me very comfortable in this space going on six years now.”
First Franchise Will Open In Columbus, OH
The first location will be opened in Columbus, OH, thanks to the first franchisee, Jessica Shinholster.
In addition, Dillard said more deals are being finalized to open locations in Dallas, TX, and Memphis, TN. The franchise fee is marked at $20,000 and owners can get the restaurant up and running with less than $100,000, Dillard told Franchise Times.
Customers can look forward to great vibes and good eats at the restaurant. Menu items include lobster tail, lamb chops, and blackened catfish topped with crab meat. The restaurant also transitions to a late-night lounge after 10 p.m. EST.
“We’re a restaurant during the day, lounge by night,” said Dillard, according to Franchise Times. “That’s the culture we create.”
“It’s more lounge with great food and great atmosphere. Of course, we have the best drinks in town,” 2 Chainz told Franchise Times.
