Insecure season four is upon us! The first episode, “Lowkey Feelin’ Myself,” is set to air on April 12, and I’m sure we are all looking forward to Issa Dee’s ionic mirror raps. As we wait for the premiere, Glow Up Games has come in clutch with the release of its “Insecure: The Come Up Game“ where you can gas yourself up just like Issa.
Glow Up Games is a research and development studio centered around using AI, AR/VR, games, and other innovative technologies to tell diverse stories. The tech company is founded by three women of color including Mitu Khandaker, Tara Mustapha, and Latoya Peterson. Glow Up Games prides itself on creating experiences that are relatable to players of diverse backgrounds.
The free mobile game allows you to create a sim and live life in LA just like the cast of “Insecure.” The game also features a rap word game that allows players to create raps and share them with friends. According to The Root, players can also pick their sim’s attire, friends, and job.
The mobile game — which is set to released soon — is authentic and legit through its partnership with HBO and received a stamp of approval from Issa Rae herself. The Root reports that Rae worked alongside the founder trio to make the game a reality.
“The Come Up Game is a perfect, natural extension of Insecure. I’m so excited to give our viewers a chance to explore Issa Dee’s world,” Rae told The Root. “The Glow Up Games team has been amazing to work with and it was such a rewarding experience to create this game alongside an all women of color-led team.”
