WiseSystems, a route optimization software for delivery fleets, recently announced that it raised $7 million in series A funding led by Gradient Ventures—Google’s AI-focused early stage venture fund.
The round brings the startup’s total funding to $8.5 million.
“Wise will accelerate development of its autonomous dispatch and routing platform with industry-specific features for new markets,” a company spokesperson wrote in a statement to BostInno. “We will also be investing in additional integration capabilities.”
Wise Systems uses cloud-based machine learning to automate logistics and improve the challenges drivers face when making deliveries. The products are designed to help operations teams automatically schedule and monitor deliveries that are in progress.
“Autonomous dispatch and routing is the next-generation technology that logistics professionals need to meet the increasingly complex requirements of the rapidly evolving economy,” said CEO Chazz Sims in a press release. “Our technology positions fleets to meet today’s and tomorrow’s needs, reshaping delivery in the $10 trillion logistics and transportation industry.”
The Cambridge, MA-based company was founded by a group of MIT and Harvard students in 2014.
