Could Whoopi Goldberg be making her debut on ABC’s “Shark Tank” as an investor?

During a taping of “The View,” which aired on Tuesday, Oct. 17, co-host Sara Haines asked about the interest of adding Goldberg to the cast of “Shark Tank” judges, which includes Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Kevin O’Leary, Robert Herjavec, and Daymond John.

“Now Barbara, you have a lot of great guest ‘Sharks’ this season, but I heard you really pushed for someone we know to be a guest ‘Shark’ on the show. Who is it and why do you think she would make a successful ‘Shark,'” Haines asked.

Corcoran said, “Well, that would be Whoopi. No one would argue with me. She tells it like it is. She spots people’s personalities.”

The audience and ‘Sharks’ broke out in excitement, chanting Whoopi’s name.

“Yeah Whoopi, you’d be a great ‘Shark,'” noted Cuban.

Goldberg commented, “Look, I love this show.”

O’Leary then joked Goldberg would need to “just bring $100 million” to get involved. The fundamental idea of the show is for judges to evaluate startups in need of funding.

She responded, “There is the problem — if I could do it with ABC’s money.”

Despite Goldberg’s current hesitations, Corcoran points out that her compassionate attitude toward helping others would qualify her as an excellent judge and business partner.

“Every great ‘Shark’ we’ve had stems from the heart, they really want to help people, and that’s what you have,” Corcoran expressed. “Who wouldn’t want to have you as their partner?”

Only time will tell whether Goldberg takes them up on the offer. However, for now, she  remains seated as a co-host on “The View,” a position she has held since 2007. According to OK Magazine, she earns $8 million annually from the show.
