This week, Detroit-based tech leader and online marketplace StockX announced that it has hired strategic Chief Human Resources Officer Leander LeSure as the company’s first-ever Global Chief People Officer in an effort to expand its leadership team.
According to a news release, this is the company’s fifth executive appointment from CEO Scott Cutler since he joined the StockX team back in June of 2019.
“As StockX scales globally, so will our team. Today we employ more than 800 team members, with plans for aggressive yet responsible growth as we meet the demands of the business,” said Cutler in a statement. “Ensuring we recruit, motivate, and retain top talent while actively listening to and caring for our team will be the single most significant deciding factor in our success.”
In his new position, LeSure brings with him more than 20 years of global HR leadership experience having previously served as chief human resources officer for companies such as Getty Images and Herman Miller.
He will be responsible for overseeing StockX’s global human resources organization, which includes its training and leadership development, diversity and inclusion, total rewards and talent recruitment functions.
As both a graduate of the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and a U.S. Navy veteran, LeSure has held senior-level HR positions with several leading finance companies including Western Union, American Express, and Marsh & McLennan Companies.
His extensive experience helping global enterprises grow and transform while ensuring human resources strategies, investments, and teams are aligned with business practices, makes him a valuable asset to the StockX team.
LeSure is confident is his abilities to help the brand expand as one of the leading online platforms to help buy and sell shoes, clothing, purses, and more.
“StockX has cemented its foothold as the platform for the next-generation consumer,” LeSure shared in a statement. “The incredible growth the company has seen is a testament to the passion and commitment of its employees and a leadership team that recognizes the importance of inclusive culture, transparent leadership and employee advocacy; I look forward to building on that foundation.”
