20-Year-Old Twin Sisters Make History Together As Early HBCU Graduates Of Xavier University

Twin sisters Jordyn and Morgan Jackson grew up accomplishing different things together, and now they’re making history together as college graduates. According to Black Enterprise, at just 20-years-old both twins have earned their respective bachelor’s degrees from Xavier University — a renowned Historically Black College and University (HBCU) located in New Orleans, LA. The outlet reports that the Jackson sisters’ college journey began back in 2018 when they graduated from North Houston Early College with high school diplomas and associate degrees in hand. Two HBCU Presidents Urge Black and Brown People to Participate in COVID-19 Vaccine Trials

Coronavirus vaccine trials are underway and the presidents of two prominent HBCUs are urging you to participate. In a letter published in The Advocate , the presidents of Dillard and Xavier University — Walter M. Kimbrough and C. Reynold Verret, respectively — explain that they are already participating in the Ochsner Health System’s current vaccine trial. During the study, they have each been injected with the experimental vaccine and are “monitoring and reporting any symptoms and side effects.” Currently, they are both well. Given the devastation of COVID-19 on the Black community, Kimbrough and Verret urge students, faculty, staff, and other HBCU institutions to volunteer in one of the many trials in order for the vaccines to be understood among a diverse group. Jeff Bezos' Former Wife MacKenzie Scott Donates Millions to Six HBCUs

Earlier this week, MacKenzie Scott opened her purse for six HBCUs , reports CNN. In a post published to Medium, Jeff Bezos’ former wife pledged to donate a portion of her wealth to several organizations and institutions. The lucky recipients? Howard University, which received $40 million; Hampton University, which received $30 million; Tuskegee University, which received $20 million. Plus, Xavier University of Louisiana — who said the donor wished to remain anonymous — and Morehouse College also announced that they each received $20 million donations and were all named on the list.
