Queen Latifah Snags Exclusive First-Look Deal With Audible

Queen Latifah has entered into a new, exclusive deal with Audible. In a press release announcement, it was revealed that the rap legend and star of CBS’s hit show “The Equalizer” has entered into a first-look deal with the audiobook streaming company. Through Flavor Unit — the production company she co-founded with longtime business partner Shakim Compere — the Queen will produce exclusive audio content for the platform. The first bit of content up for proffer is called Streets, “Rhymes & Sugar: A Hip-Hop Memoir,” and it’s from entrepreneur and screenwriter Michael Elliot (“Brown Sugar,” “Just Wright,” “Like Mike”), which will be released on August 5, 2021. This short-form Audible Original will chronicle Elliot’s path from a homeless teenager on the streets of Philadelphia to a successful screenwriter.
