Over the past two weeks, sneakerheads and Virgil Abloh fans have placed their bids to get their hands on the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 sneakers — the exclusive collaboration created prior to the Off-White designer’s passing in November 2021. AfroTech has shared reports on the custom shoes from when they were initially in the process to be put up on Sotheby’s website, which was Jan 26. On Feb. 8, the auction closed and sale prices are now being revealed, Hypebeast reports.
The bids for the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 sneakers have been popping off within a quick time span, which comes in as no surprise being that they were created by the late fashion pioneer Virgil Abloh. The leather sneakers — sold in an exclusive colorway and Louis Vuitton pilot case — went up for online auction on Sotheby’s on Jan. 26, as previously reported by AfroTech. Only 200 pairs ranging from sizes 5 to 18 went up for sale on the auction’s website, with the starting bid at $2,000. With about a week left until the sale closes, bidders have been putting their money where their mouths are for the iconic collaboration of the Abloh customs.
