Ehime Eigbe has successfully landed her sweet treats in a major retailer.
As previously reported by AFROTECH™, the Nigerian-American entrepreneur is the founder of Sweetkiwi, a yogurt brand launched in 2020. Inspired by her battle with uterine fibroids, which, at 22, she was advised might require surgery, Eigbe sought holistic alternatives. This journey led her to adopt a stricter diet and ultimately to create Sweetkiwi, a brand offering flavors such as vanilla bean, cookies & cream, mango passion fruit, hibiscus & ginger, chocolate hazelnut, and lemon blueberry parfait.
“All disease starts in the gut so at Sweetkiwi we continue to work purposefully in our mission to utilize the nutritional power of food to create healthier guts, good health, and wellness,” said Eigbe in a news release shared with AFROTECH™.
Sweetkiwi has been supported through a $250,000 deal from Shark Tank investor, Robert Herjavec, which placed the company’s valuation at more than $2.4 million in 2023, according to CNBC.
“I hope that Robert and I, and the team, can build a billion-dollar company,” Eigbe expressed at the time.
Now, Eigbe’s most recent entrepreneurial feat is securing a partnership with select Target stores in Southern California. This exciting collaboration allows Sweetkiwi to reach a wider audience, bringing its delicious and innovative yogurt flavors to more consumers than ever before.
“I’m beyond thrilled to announce that Sweetkiwi officially launched three of our amazing flavors—Lemon Blueberry, Raspberry Frosé, and Cookies & Cream—in select Target stores across Southern California,” she wrote via LinkedIn on Nov. 4, 2024. “This milestone is a dream come true and it wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of our incredible team, partners; Gillian Asiala , Le’Spencer Walker, Steven Morem, Marcus Doree and each of you who believes in our mission. Thank you for helping make this happen. To support us, go to your Target stores and fill up your carts lol, here’s to spreading more joy, one perfectly Sweet & Totally Tart scoop at a time!”
