Seven diverse brands will soon be making their way into Target stores.

This push is in part due to Diverse Powered Brands, a B2B global digital catalog that helps buyers connect with diverse suppliers and brands, according to its website.

These efforts have led to victories for new business owners. According to a news release, 13 suppliers took part in a pitch competition, moderated by Diverse Powered Brands, in June 2023 at Target headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. Suppliers were able to pitch to Target’s wine team while founders interacted with executives from Women of the Vine & Spirits, Diverse Powered Brands and Johnson Brothers, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, and Republic National Distributing Co.

What’s more, involvement in the competition came at no cost for participants but led to great rewards for the seven selected businesses, which are as follows:

  • Boyd Cru Wines
  • Mai Vino
  • Mingle Mocktails Non-Alcoholic Cocktails
  • Mom Juice
  • Iron Side Wines
  • Suede Rosé
  • The Urban Wine Co.

“We are so thrilled to officially announce the seven diverse brands that were discovered by Target in the Diverse Powered Brands catalog and chosen for placement in stores across the United States,” Deborah Brenner, founder and CEO of Diverse Powered Brands, said in the news release. “Diverse Powered Brands serves as a hybrid sales tool that adds tremendous value to the three-tier system. Target selecting seven brands for placement demonstrates ease of use and one of the many ways DPB is an accelerator and disruptor for diverse suppliers in the beverage alcohol industry.”

Jon’ll Boyd, winemaker/co-owner of Boyd Cru Wines, shared in a statement:

“We are elated that Boyd Cru Wines was selected to partner with Target and are most grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the first ever Diverse Powered Brands Pitch Day! This is a dream come true, and we can’t thank Diverse Powered Brands enough for being such a great resource and creating a much-needed space for diverse brands to have a voice and be found.”
