Emmy-nominated actress Natasha Rothwell is rallying Black women in the Web3 space with joint efforts from BFF and Skai Blue Media.
“I’m excited to be joining the Web3 community as one of the founding BFF and Belonging and Mattering council members,” said Rothwell in a press release. “I look forward to sharing my experience in arts education and as a creative in entertainment as an expression of my commitment to the advocacy for marginalized groups in order to create more opportunities and ensure an equitable future for underserved communities in web3.”
BMC Council Members Will Uphold BFF's DEI Standards
According to a press release, the Belonging and Mattering Council (BMC) and Web3 pledge supports and provides opportunities for underrepresented communities. The pledge reflects BFF’s relentless drive to advocate and uphold diversity, equity, and inclusion for the brand. To jumpstart the newly formed pledge, members will create public-facing initiatives and respond accordingly.
Natasha Rothwell joins BFF’s Community Inclusion Coordinator, Riley Blackwell, Senior Vice President and Channel Chief at Unstoppable Domains, Sandy Carter; Founder and Publisher of Because of Them We Can™, Eunique Jones Gibson; and civil rights lawyer, entrepreneur, and American Disabilities Act Activist, Alexis Kashar.
BFF Community Will Have Access To Professional Development Programs And More
The BMC members will prop the BFF community with “tools, lexicon, and cultural insights” coupled with workforce development programs, partnerships with like-minded BIPOC organizations, and fundraising to back other initiatives.
“With a community of more than 100,000 members, we’ve made it a priority to actively support the multitude of individuals represented in BFF,” said BFF co-founders Brit Morin and Jaime Schmidt, according to a press release. “We want to amplify our community and leaders to showcase the diverse talent within the web3 space and beyond. We’re proud to work with such a renowned and experienced council and excited to keep expanding on it as we enter BFF’s next chapter to ignite change.”
