Usher has secured a major win ahead of bringing R&B to the 2024 Apple Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show.
From 2022 to 2023, the superstar’s “My Way: The Vegas Residency” was one of the most sought-after shows. In December 2023, he closed out his 100th and final sold-out show, per Rolling Stone.
Before performing at Park MGM’s Dolby Live, Usher crooned his catalog of hits in 2021 in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where he sold out 18 of his 20 shows in his first Vegas residency, “Usher: The Las Vegas Residency,” AFROTECH previously shared.
According to a new report, the numbers generated from all of Usher’s residency shows matched its buzz across social media and beyond.
Usher’s two residencies have grossed over $100 million, according to Billboard Boxscore. While his first residency earned $18.8 million from 84,000 tickets sold, “My Way: The Vegas Residency” earned $95.9 million from 394,000 tickets sold — totaling to $114.6 million.
Across the 100 residency shows, each show earned an average of $1.198 million. The report also notes that the total revenue generated is more than any of his previous tours he’s had to date.
While Usher just came off of his two and a half years-run in Vegas, he has no plans on letting up quite yet. As he once declared on his 2008 hit “Love in This Club” — “We just getting started.”
With his ninth studio album “Coming Home” releasing on Feb. 9, the “Good Good” singer announced he’s going on tour in 2024. The tour — “Usher: Past Present Future” — is Usher’s first solo headline tour in a decade, per Billboard.
Kicking off on Aug. 20 in Washington, D.C., the tour will make 24 stops across North America. Usher is set to hit his hometown of Atlanta, GA on October 17 and October 18.
