The advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion is looking to be taken to a new level under a new acquisition.

On April 27, True, the premier global platform of innovative talent management products and services, announced that it has acquired Jopwell, according to a press release.

Launched in 2014 as the first and leading diversity and inclusion technology company, Jopwell is now a part of True Search and True Platform’s sister organization, AboveBoard.

As Jopwell works to support Black, Latinx, and Native American students and professionals, the acquisition is set to support the underrepresented groups’ careers on a wider scale.

“This partnership with True’s global reach and resources expands the value we deliver to our partners and community members,” said Jopwell CEO Ryan Williams in a press statement. “We’re aligned from our technology roots to our shared visions for disrupting the talent industry for the better of all people.”

Porter Braswell, Jopwell executive chairman, chimed in, “The truth is that you can’t improve diversity at the executive level by working at the executive level alone. Starting with interns, Jopwell empowers our partners to recruit, hire and retain underrepresented talent and develop those high-potential employees to be the leaders of tomorrow.”

While Jopwell is newly acquired, Williams and Braswell will continue to lead the company as a business unit within True Platform, the outlet details.

The duo started the company because they wanted to aid in closing the gap between underrepresented talent and top employers.

Since then, Jopwell has built a community of 130,000 members, who have been connected to its partners such as Google, Deloitte, American Express, and more. Now, with the backing of True, the company will create even more pathways to increase the number of people of color in leadership roles.

“Jopwell and True share three significant goals–to empower underrepresented talent in the workforce; to help companies meet their goals for diversifying leadership; and to bring the most innovative talent solutions to market,” said True co-CEO and co-founder Brad Stadler. “We couldn’t be more excited about the impact we can make together, especially under Jopwell’s continued leadership of co-founders Ryan Williams and Porter Braswell.”
