Sherrexcia “Rexy” Rolle, Esq. is taking over the family business.
The aviation and corporate attorney is now the CEO, president, and accountable manager of Western Air, a family-owned private airline based in The Bahamas.
Sherrexcia’s position went into effect on Jan. 1, 2024, succeeding her father, Captain Rex Rolle.
Captain Rolle led the airline since it was created alongside his wife, Shandrice Woodside, in 2000. He will remain involved as the chairman of the board, overseeing the direction of the airline.
Sherrexcia brings over 15 years of experience, which includes over nine years as vice president of operations and general counsel.
Her achievements include launching the airline’s first routes to the United States between Nassau and Fort Lauderdale and opening Western Air Freeport Passenger Terminal in 2015, then supporting its rebuild during the wake of COVID-19 and Hurricane Dorian.
“Rexy is deeply committed to the service we offer passengers. She’s hands on. For years, her role has been all encompassing, overseeing the day-to-day operations and the legal & regulatory affairs of the airline. We know she will continue to work hard to enhance and develop the Western Air experience for passengers,” Captain Rolle said in a news release.
“I thank God and I thank our hard working, talented team for their commitment to the service we provide. Each person plays a part. And as a family business, it’s truly an honor to step into the role that my Dad served for so long,” Sherrexcia expressed in a news release.
Looking ahead, Sherrexcia says her focus will remain on the airline’s customers, operations, and mission.
“Customers matter most and we are here to serve from check-in to landing and beyond,” she said in a press release. “Passengers motivate our growth and innovation. However, our core mission remains the same; to provide safe, quality, affordable, efficient air service. We believe travel should be easy and no pressure. Hence, our tickets are usable for one year with no change or cancellation fees, ever.”
