It is now possible to chat with Snoop Dogg, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Paul whenever you want — or at least sort of.
Meta has released an AI assistant that one can “interact with like a person.” Through a partnership with Bing, it will make information accessible in “real-time”and offer images that correspond with text prompts.
“This isn’t just gonna be about answering queries,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, according to Variety. “This is about entertainment and about helping you do things to connect with the people around you.”
Meta AI — powered by Llama 2 and the company’s large language model — will be available on apps such as WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. It will also be coming soon to Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and Quest, as stated in a blog post.
“Our journey with AIs is just beginning, and it isn’t purely about building AIs that only answer questions,” the company mentioned. “We’ve been creating AIs that have more personality, opinions, and interests, and are a bit more fun to interact with. Along with Meta AI, there are 28 more AIs that you can message on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. You can think of these AIs as a new cast of characters – all with unique backstories.”
What’s more, Meta has partnered with celebrities and influencers to launch their AI chatbot. Each of them will have profiles on some of Meta’s platforms. Notable names include Snoop Dogg, Wade, Paul, Naomi Osaka, Tom Brady, Kendall Jenner, among others.

“And because interacting with them should feel like talking to familiar people, we did something to build on this even further. We partnered with cultural icons and influencers to play and embody some of these AIs. They’ll each have profiles on Instagram and Facebook, so you can explore what they’re all about,” the company added.
