Janet Jackson has been a powerful force in the music industry for over three decades, and she’s not letting up anytime soon.

To tell her story within her own terms, the global pop star brought the world into her iconic eras and personal life in her executive-produced documentary that aired on Lifetime and A&E. According to Variety, her documentary reached 15.7 million viewers. In addition, much love and support were shown for Jackson’s discography after it aired.

The music veteran’s albums have taken over iTunes Top 10 Pop sales chart including No. 1 with “Control,” That Grape Juice reports.

Dominating The Charts

On Jan. 29, Jackson also took No. 1 on the iTunes R&B sales chart with “Rhythm Nation” and No. 5 with “Janet,” according to the outlet.

Jackson’s past albums re-entering the charts previously happened back in February 2021 when “Control” snagged No. 1 on Apple’s Top 40 U.S. Pop Album chart.

“I was at home just the other day by myself, and I began to cry,” Jackson shared. “I was crying because I was so thankful for all that God has blessed me with, all that he has given me, and I’m so thankful for him being in my life. I’m so thankful for all of you being in my life. You’re so special to me, and I want to thank all of you for making Control number one once again. After 35 years, never in a million years would I think that this would happen. I really appreciate you, and I love you so, so much.”

Defying The Odds

Throughout her monumental career, Jackson has had her fair share of uphill battles, from the pressures of the music business to being blackballed.

Nonetheless, one thing that has remained unmoved is the support of her loyal fans, who showed up for her in their homes watching the documentary, live-tweeting during the premiere and running up the numbers for her music.

For all that she’s given with her art, the legend is properly getting her flowers as she rightfully should.
