Cam’ron’s pink mink coat shook the fashion and Hip-Hop world for the right reasons.

The Dipset rapper rocked the fur back in 2002 for Fashion Week. The coat was paired with a flip phone held to his ear, which was brilliantly the same shade as his fit. The look is still widely endeared to this day and was even recently worn by Drake.

“The fur comes out once in a while if it makes sense. But you know, for the Drake show, being at the Apollo, I thought it’d be cool to bring out,” Cam’ron told Boardroom.

Why He Declined A Six-Figure Offer

The Canadian rapper isn’t the only one who desires to take a trip down memory lane. During an interview with Boardroom, Cam’ron revealed he received an offer from an interested buyer to purchase the fur coat for $300,000. However, he turned it down because he didn’t believe the interested buyer understood the historical significance of the coat.

Evidently, Cam’ron isn’t swayed by dollar signs alone but he did reveal that if the sale makes sense, it won’t be off the table.

“The people who offered it to me, I didn’t feel they deserved it,” Cam’ron told Boardroom. “It was more of a stat to me saying y’all bought Cam’s jacket. It wasn’t really like they appreciated where that jacket came from. And if it makes sense to sell it to somebody who would’ve appreciated it or put it where it’s gonna be seen and be historic that people know as my jacket, cool.”

He continued: “You know, you got rich suburban kids who’d be like, ‘Hey Cam, my girlfriend, really loves your pink jacket.’ ‘I don’t really know too much about it, but I’ll buy it for her.’ How much do you want for it?’ Like that type sh-t. You know what I’m saying? These are booster babies. Their parents come from generational money to where they probably don’t know too much about Hip-Hop at all anyway, but they dealing with people who do.”
