The good news keeps rolling in for Brent Faiyaz following the success of his sophomore album.

As AfroTech previously mentioned, Faiyaz’s latest project, “Wasteland,” peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart.

His success is even more impressive considering he has chosen to be independent. In the past, the artist has turned down various offers from labels including a reported $250,000 advance.

“I always said that it was never about the money. It was always about the terms,” Ty Baisden, Faiyaz’s manager, previously told VICE News in 2018.

He added: “I look at everything from 100% of a pot. I’m thinking to myself, I’m like 18 percent [of royalties] out of a hundred. So if we do a two album deal, that means that if both of those albums combined makes, let’s say, $10 million in profits, I’m getting paid 18% of that. That doesn’t make sense to me.”

Now Faiyaz has secured a partnership that will not hinder but rather enhance his ability to navigate the music industry.

Billboard reports the popular R&B artist has partnered with UnitedMasters to launch a creative agency.

The deal is rumored to be worth $50 million, Billboard also shared.

“Brent Faiyaz is one of the most prolific independent artists today, and we are extremely excited to embark on this new partnership with him,” UnitedMasters founder Steve Stoute said, according to the report. “It’s been inspiring to watch his journey as an artist over the years, and with this partnership we look to further amplify his creative vision and support his entrepreneurial ambitions.”

Additionally, Faiyaz has also announced his world tour, which will kick off in Washington D.C.

Tickets will be sold beginning on May 5.
