Following minor setbacks, Lil Baby is preparing to bring a new restaurant to his hometown.

The rapper and businessman has teamed up with Chad Dillon to open The Seafood Menu Restaurant & Lounge in Atlanta, GA, according to a press release shared with AfroTech. The restaurant aims to provide a unique seafood dining experience at a more affordable cost and “where guests can savor delectable seafood dishes while immersing themselves in an ambiance that pays homage to the rich history of hip-hop music in Atlanta and beyond.”

Along with giving his city innovative seafood dishes, Lil Baby ventured into becoming a restaurateur with the intent of building longevity outside of his successful music career.

“Restaurants are one of the few businesses that have lasted for 50 years, standing strong even through the challenges of the pandemic,” Lil Baby said, according to the press release. “I believe in the power of endurance.”

The Seafood Menu Restaurant & Lounge will feature seven custom sauces ranging from traditional to “unexpected twists.”

“Caribbean Jerk is my current favorite,” Lil Baby shared. “Every time I try a new sauce, it becomes my favorite, but lately, the jerk sauce has been hitting different!”

The press release details that Lil Baby hopes to expand his restaurant through franchising as well as get its sauces on grocery store shelves worldwide.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Seafood Menu Restaurant & Lounge’s grand opening will be held on July 14.

Earlier this year, a fellow rap star entered the restaurant industry. As previously reported by AfroTech, Moneybagg Yo held the ribbon-cutting ceremony for his restaurant and lounge, Cache 42 Kitchen & Cocktails, on March 31. The restaurant is located in his hometown of Memphis, TN.

While Moneybagg Yo is said to be heavily involved, Chef Daris Leatherwood runs Cache 42’s kitchen and Jason Spicer serves as operations manager.
