Former UFC fighter Kevin Lee is planting his roots in Dallas.

Coming from the UFC, food was central to his success, The Dallas Morning News reports. He was also raised by a father who knew how to cook well, and family dinners were an important tradition.

Kevin is also the older brother of social media food reviewer Keith Lee, who has his own professional fighting background with MMA. The brothers both live in Dallas. Keith shared a TikTok video promoting Kevin’s newest venture, Braised, a concept that began at a farmers market in Miami, evolved into a food truck, and has now moved to North Dallas.

“I’m really excited for this next chapter in the business and getting it restarted, and just getting familiar with the people of Dallas and making a good community here,” Kevin told The Dallas Morning News.

Kevin also hosted a pop-up at Keith’s annual food festival in New Orleans. Keith said in a TikTok post that it was “one of the best-selling pop-ups” at this year’s festival. Specifically, Braised’s short ribs and pot pies sold out.

Braised, which is also known for its oxtail, held a grand opening for the public at noon on Nov. 1 at 1499 Regal Row, Suite 205, Dallas, TX 75247, and sold out. The first 30 customers received free meals, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Keith also revealed in the TikTok video that everything from the kitchen is made from scratch.

“My brother’s kind of hard-headed, so he ain’t got no big team. He ain’t got a bunch of people cooking with him. It’s him and like a few people. So please come with an appetite, come with some patience, and let’s have a ball,” Keith said in a TikTok video. “This is my way of saying as a younger brother that I’m extremely proud of him. And if anybody that wants to support sees this, please come up.”

Keith affirmed to The Dallas Morning News that he believes Braised will become “one of the best restaurants” in Dallas.
