Ice-T is joining the likes of Method Man as he ventures into the cannabis industry.

Headynj.com reports the rapper and actor is set to open a cannabis dispensary in New Jersey.

"It’s Kinda Cool To Bring Something Back"

After the Jersey City Cannabis Control Board (CCB) approved his adult-use cannabis dispensary application, Ice-T’s The Medicine Woman is officially opening in the Garden State.

“During the governor’s run for election, myself and my friends, we helped campaign for him. I was born in Newark, NJ, raised in Summit, NJ. So, it’s kinda cool to bring something back to Jersey,” Ice-T said, according to headynj.com.

He continued: “Helping the community is Ice-T: I’m Black, I’m a veteran, my whole career has been about helping people. Nobody starts a business thinking about social impact. But it’s lucrative enough … that you should want to help the community.”

"Access To Safe Cannabis"

Ice-T was one out of four dispensaries to be approved unanimously (4-0) including Medusa Dispensary and Lounge, Oceanfront Holdings, and the Other Side Dispensary.

According to co-owner Charis Burrett, the dispensary will onboard managers from California to train their staff in New Jersey. The Medicine Woman’s first location is in Bellflower, CA, in Los Angeles County.

“We want everyone to have access to safe cannabis. You are the first application who have said something about the price point. I commend you on that,” CCB member Stacey Flanagan said.

"Good Luck And Go Forth"

The outlet shares that before the approval of their application, Ice-T and Medicine Woman Head of Operations John Batchelor met with Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and Council President Joyce Watterman in January 2020.

“They said good luck and go forth. His [Fulop’s] wish was to partner with business minority-owned, and were female-owned, and had experience.”

Per the outlet, The Medicine Woman will be located at 660 Tonnelle Ave.
