Rihanna continues to smash ceilings!
According to Fox Business, the Fenty creator just made the Forbes’ list of America’s richest self-made women for the first time ever. Coming in at No. 33 with a net worth of $600 million, the Barbados native accumulated most of her wealth from not only her music but her cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty,
“We have this amazing emotional connection with customers who’ve never been able to find their shade of foundation before – women crying at the [makeup] counter – it’s crazy to even think about,” Rihanna tells Vogue.
Since launching in 2017, Rihanna had a vision for Fenty Beauty — to inspire — which she is fully committed to.
“I have 100 percent involvement in this process, which is what makes this so special and very fun. I have so much creative freedom from products to packaging, and that’s really the only way this brand will stay true to my vision for it,” she tells TIME magazine, expressing that she’s fully involved in every aspect of Fenty Beauty.
Rihanna has always been committed to inclusivity in the makeup industry, with Fenty Beauty providing 40 shades of foundation for all hues.
“The first woman I saw put makeup on her face was a Black woman – my mom – and when I think of my customers, I want everyone to feel like they can find their color that they are represented as part of this new generation,” Rihanna said.
The self-made millionaire also co-owns the Savage X Fenty lingerie line with investors like the TechStyle Fashion Group, an online fashion company. Just last month, the singer premiered season two of the company’s fashion show.
Other women musicians who made the list of self-made richest women include Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez who are tied at $150 million, Taylor Swift ($365 million), Barbra Streisand ($400 million), Beyoncé ( $420 million), Celine Dion ($455 million), and Madonna ($550 million).
