DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) initiatives have been quickly scaled back or removed entirely across America following the Trump administration’s recent orders. Upon entering office last month, he banned DEI programs and even removed inclusive wording. Resources for underrepresented Americans on federal and corporate websites are disappearing by the day and many companies are following suit.
This disappointing truth has led to a public uproar and general disappointment with obvious digressions from inclusiveness. What’s even more sobering is many companies’ silence or steady reversal of their previous commitments to progressive programs. Day by day companies are either doubling down, scaling back or completely switching up on their DEI efforts. No matter if their renunciations are quiet are bold, people are starting to pay more attention to corporate motives surrounding workplace inclusivity.
Which Companies Are Still Supporting DEI?

Despite the overall losses due to the Trump administration’s ban, some DEI supportive companies are still making efforts. These brands stand out from all the rest and are giving people hope – if consumers want to put their buying power to good use, there is something they can do. The Black Dollar is incredibly influential, so being selective about which companies to boycott in these troubling times can send strong messages.
Other than that, pro-DEI consumers can continue or begin to buy from Black- owned stores that have the same values. There are also corporate leaders that are making a stand; all in all, it is important to pay attention to how these companies are moving. While this is, of course, not an exhaustive list of DEI supportive companies, these are some of the biggest that have put their foot down.
Airlines
Trump’s ban of DEI across federal organizations has certainly impacted agencies like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which has much to do with how the transportation industry functions. There have already been major changes, but airlines do not have to comply. While United and American Airlines have pledged to stick with DEI, Delta has perhaps been the most vocal, publicly committing to diversity, equity and inclusion as an integral part of operations. United and American have been a bit deflective in their responses about DEI by simply citing their commitment to hire the best talent. They have yet to comment directly on whether or not their policies will be changing or not, so their support is a bit vague as of now.
Financial Institutions
Some big names in the financial services industry have made their standpoint on DEI clear. J.P. Morgan, Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs have made comments about their corporate stance so far. As Forbes reports, J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon is supportive of inclusion initiatives and sees DEI as a beneficial business strategy. Goldman Sachs has also confirmed its commitment to DEI initiatives. Deutsche Bank has recently joined these big banks in defending DEI. CEO Christian Sewing has stated that the bank will benefit from its commitment. Despite these bold commitments, these companies may eventually make modifications to ensure legal compliance.
Tech Companies
Apple is among one of the biggest corporations to commit to DEI. Amid many conservative proposals for a change in initiatives, the company has remained steadfast in its support. In an effort to continue to create a culture of belonging, Apple has resisted pushback. In a similar fashion, Microsoft has made a commitment to double down on DEI through efforts such as ongoing involvement in inclusive initiatives. Cisco’s CEO, Chuck Robbins, has also expressed the company’s values which align with DEI initiatives.
Miscellaneous Supporters Of DEI
Some other companies that have established their support of DEI include the platform Pinterest and the store Costco. The former, which is a popular social media platform, has stood by their outlook on DEI. This follows developments in recent years like adding the feature to search for results including more diverse skin tones. As CNN reports, Costco’s shareholders have majorly rejected an anti-DEI proposal recently. This unanimous decision marks a win for the company which has since received major praise for its support of DEI.
