Adrian Archie is making his mark in a multi-billion dollar market as the founder of petNmind Naturals & Self-Wash, a destination for natural pet nutrition, supplies, and hygiene.

The storefront, which launched in 2016, was a long-held passion that Archie manifested while working in a career with healthcare sales and marketing for a decade.

His store allows customers to shop for healthy items for their pets including holistic dog and cat food and supplements. The shop also offers pet supplies and a self-serve dog wash station.

Face2Face Africa reported that Archie’s commitment to providing more nutritious food to animals was inspired by his dog Rocko, who had an allergic reaction to dog food purchased at a local store. As a result, he switched to natural and nutritious products, which his dog tolerated better.

In response to the discovery, he began sharing information with his family and friends. Archie’s deep-seated interest demanded action. Now, according to a press release, he is the first Black person to open and sell franchises in the pet industry, with new locations set to open in South Florida and Los Angeles.

“By bringing petNmind to Downtown Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles, we are looking to educate pet owners and to offer only quality products,” Brandon Felton, the franchisee of the new stores, said according to a press release. “Everything in our store is holistic and high quality, and we love people, so customer service will always come first for us.”

As the company looks toward the future, petNmind is preparing for expansion and has plans to add new franchisees to its roster in the future.

“Franchisees don’t have a huge payroll or staffing issues,” Archie said in a news release. “As an involved owner who can be semi-absentee, all you need is a quality manager and two or three part-time employees passionate about pets.”
