Venus Williams’ talents extend far beyond the tennis court. Not only is she revered as a tennis legend, but she is also the go-to expert for skincare tips among her family and friends. Honing in on her knack for beauty tips, Williams recently announced the launch of her new mineral-based sunscreen collection.

Williams’ clothing brand, EleVen, teamed up with beauty brand Credo to release the sunscreen collection which consists of the On-The-Defense Sunscreen SPF 30, a semi-matte mineral sunscreen, and the Unrivaled Sun Serum SPF 30, a product for daily use.

“Credo is the leader in clean beauty. It really was just the perfect partner for EleVen to launch a clean mineral sunscreen,” Williams told Allure.

Now that Williams is older, she makes her skincare a priority, especially with her career.

“When I was younger, I was wild and too free, and I took it for granted that I had great skin,” Williams told Allure. “But that is not the case now. I am covered from head to toe when I’m outside: long sleeves, long pants, and sunscreen. I try to protect my skin as much as I can.”

Historically, it has been difficult for people of color to purchase sunscreen that doesn’t cause ashiness or breakouts. The Credo X EleVen line seeks to solve this dilemma.

“No matter what skin tone you are, you want your skin to look like your skin, and you don’t want any layers on top,” Williams told Allure. “This [line] leaves no white cast and, of course, it’s universal for every skin tone and complexion.”
