Telfar is about to bless fans with what seems to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
On Sunday (Sept. 11), the iconic bag brand will partner with a Rainbow clothing store in Brooklyn to equip its avid supporters with a one-day shopping extravaganza, according to an Instagram post. It will be the first time that Telfar’s famous “Shopping Bag” will be available for purchase in all sizes and colors.

A Rainbow Takeover
“This Sunday we taking over the Rainbow shop in downtown Brooklyn and filling it with thousands and thousands of bags,” wrote the brand in the caption on Instagram. “Every size, every color — one day only, first come first serve!”
The event is set to be hosted by Telfar and the hosts of Telfar TV. With that said, the brand did provide the following disclaimer: “It will be filmed so if you don’t want to be on TV, this is not for you.”
"Don't Hurt Anyone, Do Get Your Bag"
Furthermore, they listed a full set of rules, which included a clear warning not to hurt others while on the hunt for the renowned Shopping Bag.
Per its Instagram, the rules are as follows:
- DON’T HURT ANYONE. DO GET YOUR BAG.
- SHOPPING BAGS ONLY. No circle bags, no duffle bags, no collab bags— sorry!
- The event is hosted by Telfar and the TELFAR TV hosts — it will be filmed so if you don’t want to be on TV this is not for you.
- ALL MAJOR CREDIT + DEBIT CARDS ACCEPTED OR PAY IN 4 WITH @KLARNA
- 5 bag limit per customer
- NO CASH
- All sales are final
Bags For The Culture
As previously reported by AfroTech, 2022 has been quite the year for the accessory line created by Telfar Clemens. Thanks to a nod from Beyoncé on her recent “Renaissance” album, the searches for the brand were higher than the search for the luxury “Birkin Bag” for a five-hour period.
Clemens also revealed that the company is headed to its first brick-and-mortar store in an interview with The Breakfast Club.
“There is one coming,” he said in March 2022. “We’re opening a store this year in New York City. And we’re still deciding where that is going to be. I don’t want to say too much about it, but we’re opening a store this year.”
Taking Over Households, One Bag At A Time
Since its inception in 2005, Telfar has become a household staple for people across the nation. In September 2021, the genderless brand launched Telfar TV as a platform for customers to come learn more about the brand and get first dibs about upcoming drops, content, and live events.
