Neiman Marcus has reaffirmed its commitment to Black youth, and has put their money where their proverbial mouth is to prove their commitment.

In a press release, the luxury retailer has announced they’ve joined forces with the Boys & Girls Club of America for the next three years, so that the non-profit organization can continue its fundraising efforts in the stores throughout Black History Month. The ultimate goal, the company says, is to deliver more than $1 million toward the advancement of youth. With 4.6 million young people in Boys & Girls Clubs of America, 26 percent, or 1.1 million, are Black.

Donations from the Neiman Marcus Group — the parent company of the store and its ancillary properties — ensure all youth, including Black youth, receive the knowledge, skills, and experiences to prepare them for school, work, and life. Donations are also used to advance young emerging scholars interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

“Neiman Marcus Group is investing in a strong foundation of educational support, mentoring, and leadership skills, which are all crucial to the success of our communities,” said Amber Seikaly, Vice President, ESG, and Chief Communications Officer, of the Neiman Marcus Group. “We have a commitment to serving communities across the U.S., and we’re thrilled to continue supporting organizations that build brighter futures.”

The store’s Black History Month initiatives don’t stop there. Nikole Hannah-Jones, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, will host a fireside chat with Tracy Preston, the Chief Legal Counsel for the company. The proceeds for the virtual event will be donated to the Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting, and you can still register for the event on their official page.
