The outlet based that net worth on the incentive value of her medals ($37,500 per gold, and $22,500 for silver, based on a 2018 CNBC report), the value of her advertisements and endorsements (which include Beats by Dre, Candid Dental, GK Elite, Hershey’s, Oreo, Kellogg’s, Mattress Firm, SK-II, and Uber Eats — plus a partnership with Athleta, which AfroTech reports she secured after she cut ties with Nike), and other sponsorship opportunities.

Since the terms of Biles’ deals haven’t been made public, and the numbers aren’t verifiable, it’s difficult to place a true number on her net worth. But Snopes did a great job of pointing out that despite deceptive ads (which place her net worth anywhere from as low as $6 million to as high as $12 million), Biles does a great job of keeping her finances out of the news.
