Akon is steadily building up his African crypto-city empire, and now he’s got his sights set on another city outside of Senegal.

According to reports from the Ugandan government, they share that they’ve allocated one square mile of land to the rapper and business mogul to allow construction to begin on his cryptocurrency-based city, REVOLT reports.

Following the announcement of his plans to transform Senegal into a futuristic city, Akon is now preparing to build his second AKoin-operated city in Uganda which is set to be completed by the year 2036.

Though he has not yet released details on how much the new construction project will cost, we know that its sister city was a $6 billion costly operation. Additionally, amenities have not been announced either but Complex predicts that it will likely follow the same model as Senegal’s blueprint — which includes a Hamptons Hospital campus, Hamptons Mall, a school, police department, and waste management service as well as parks, stadiums, and other recreational facilities.

When asked about how Ugandan citizens would be able to afford these new amenities, Akon stated that the public should believe and invest in themselves because the new developments will position the country to be a land of opportunity.

“I know if I put it there, they’re going to find a way to afford it because it’s going to motivate them,” he said in a press conference. “But ultimately when you create an opportunity, people grow with that opportunity, people learn with that opportunity, people are motivated with that opportunity.”

Akon’s overall goal for the city is to ensure its a technologically-advanced society that’s able to support itself on his promising cryptocurrency.

“We want all the latest in future technologies,” he stated previously to TMZ about Senegal’s construction according to Complex. “I don’t want nothing from the old days. I want it all to be based on tomorrow’s technology, and how it’s gonna be built for our future because all the latest technology now is all instruments and minerals, and resources taken from Africa. I’m already in Africa, so we can build everything within the African continent without having to outsource anything from the outside.”

With construction of Uganda’s Akon City now underway, Akon City in Senegal is slated to be completed in the next three years.
