Now more than ever, people are packing their bags and discovering countries all on their own. As solo travel continues to be one of the biggest trends, one app is helping adventurers seamlessly blog about their experiences and connecting them with other travelers.

TravSolo is the newest app hoping to grab the attention of solo travelers looking to digitally document where they’ve been. TravSolo’s founder Chizoba Anyaoha got the idea for the app after planning a trip to Australia with friends began to fall through. With time growing closer for Anyaoha to catch his flight, he decided to go alone for two weeks.

“I was going to a lot of cities by myself because my friends weren’t free,” Anyaoha said.

He’s been to nearly 30 countries, with a number of them being solo trips. By racking up stamps on his passport, Anyaoha realized that he wanted to spice things up from his career in human resources and started planning for TravSolo.

He found that people solo travel differently and wanted to find a way to make it easier for all groups.

“I noticed a few nuances about solo travel,” Anyaoha said. “Sometimes people want to be alone and don’t want to be bothered with anybody while other people want to find every reason to connect.”

TravSolo lets users share photos, videos, and notes while on the go. Users can create an itinerary for themselves and curate a video of their experiences for friends, followers, and family to see. The app is supposed to give followers more insight into what their favorite blogger is doing, where they’re going, and what they’re eating along their journey. TravSolo users can post their trips privately or publicly.

TravSolo also connects solo travelers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and a list of European countries through chats with other verified users. The chats give users the power to plan meet-ups, suggest restaurants and other activities throughout the cities they are visiting.

“At the end of the day, they have a story to bring back home and tell,” Anyaoha said. “You can travel to these amazing cities and countries, but sometimes when you try to explain to friends what you actually experienced, they just don’t get it.”

Anyaoha is now focusing on growth for TravSolo, which is available on the App Store.
