Clubhouse has officially exited its beta stage!

Just a year after launching on iOS, and later on Android systems, the audio-streaming app has officially exited its beta phase which means its invite-only system is out of the window.

According to Complex, in an announcement on July 20, the Clubhouse team announced what the platform’s next chapter will look like for users.

“The invite system has been an important part of our early history,” wrote founders Paul Davison and Rohan Seth in an official blog post. “By adding people in waves […] we’ve been able to grow Clubhouse in a measured way, and (mostly 😬) keep things from breaking as we’ve scaled. But we’ve always wanted Clubhouse to be open. Everyone in the world should have access to meaningful conversations. And the best rooms on Clubhouse are the ones where you meet people from far outside your social circle, with different views and lived experiences, who change your perspective on the world.”

If you’re currently on the Clubhouse waitlist, the company reports that you will soon be added to the platform in the upcoming weeks.

New users were able to automatically sign up starting July 21. This change also allows users to post a link to the clubs on their social media accounts which, in turn, will give their followers the chance to join in on conversations.

As the social networking platform continues to soar to new heights, founders Davidson and Seth also highlighted some of the app’s biggest wins over the past year.

They noted that the number of Clubhouse rooms shot up from 50,000 to just about half a million and roughly 10 million people have reportedly joined the community since mid-May of this year.

The app has even received co-signs from stars like Kanye West, Chris Rock, Oprah, and more.

“We suspect there will be many more ups and downs as we scale, and competition from the large networks will be fierce,” Davison and Seth continued. “But we believe the future is created by optimists, and we’re excited to build something new on the Internet- a place based on human connection and lively conversations, where you always feel welcome and free to be yourself.”

Along with the announcement to go public, Clubhouse has received a new logo and website design.
