Students are making the most of their time during quarantine including 16-year-old Alexis Loveraz, who has spent his time inside helping his peers in their studies using a popular social media platform.

Since schools have shut down and are unlikely to reopen for the remainder of the year, Loveraz has turned toward TikTok to become a cyber teacher.

Loveraz, a Harlem Prep High School student, has given a new purpose to the visual platform by turning it into a learning medium to tutor math to fellow students.

“The knowledge that I have I want to share with other people!” he told CBS2 New York.

After getting a push from his friends, the Bronx scholar was motivated to post educational videos on TikTok to tutor students in math — earning him the name “TikTok Tutor.”

Loveraz’s digital tutoring videos are both innovative for other students and a proud moment for his parents.

“I’m excited about this. I know he can do this and more. I’m so proud that he helped a lot of people,” says his mother Likmilian Hiciano.

Loveraz’s TikTok profile consists of videos explaining tough mathematical concepts such as geometry, algebra, and chemistry, according to TheGrio. His followers find his tutorials extremely helpful, especially now that students are relying solely on remote e-learning.

Loveraz’s viral videos make remote learning accessible and more understandable to students around the world.

The Bronx teen currently has over 645,000 followers with over 5 million likes on his videos. Now, Loveraz is actively trying to include Google Classrooms to improve the virtual experience for everyone, The Grio reports.
