Snoop Dogg once auctioned off a blunt for $10,000 in the name of charity.
Created in 2012, Hilarity for Charity aims to raise funding for unpaid family caregivers as they are the backbone for providing support to those in need.
The charity helps to align people of all ages and backgrounds through original content, in-person events, and virtual gatherings, per the company’s website.
The mission is to inspire more individuals to make a difference that can directly impact caregivers.
To help in achieving that mission, Snoop Dogg once linked up with the nonprofit to amplify its efforts. The Rogens were even fortunate enough to get an exclusive performance from the rapper in the name of charity.
Although this alone could have been the icing on the cake, Snoop took it up a notch and put his blunt up for auction. The unexpected gesture helped the nonprofit raise $10,000 for Alzheimer’s care and research.
“Snoop Dogg once auctioned off a blunt on stage for Alzheimer’s,” Seth told Variety. “I think it went for $10,000.”
He added: “I think that encapsulates how we are approaching the space differently. If you’re lucky enough to be able to get Snoop Dogg to come perform at your show and auction off a blunt for Alzheimer’s care and research, then I think that speaks very well to an unexpected but effective kind of melding of matters and sensibilities,” Seth said, according to the outlet.
Snoop Dogg’s approach seems to be different in everything he does, especially with his growing empire.
As previously reported by AfroTech, the rapper launched the cereal brand Snoop Loopz through the Broadus Foods line in partnership with Master P. Plus, the two are adding more breakfast foods through a new vertical — Momma Snoop Breakfast Foods.
However, the twist is that Snoop is also looking to give back through the business move.
