Yale's Nathaneo Johnson And Sean Hargrow Secure $3.1M To Rival LinkedIn, Reportedly The Most VC Raised For Current Ivy League Students

Yale University students Nathaneo Johnson And Sean Hargrow have launched what they call “the first AI social network.” Business Insider reports that the duo was inspired to found Series because vanity metrics, such as likes and follower counts, were becoming a barrier to connection on platforms such as LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram. “I see it within our generation, the FOMO, the ‘I’m not good enough, I won’t reach out to that person, he’s better than me,'” Hargrow told Business Insider. “Forget your likes, forget your followers, let’s focus on who you are and what you can bring to the table and what you need, and what somebody else can bring to your table if it makes sense.” In 2024, Series was founded with a focus on student entrepreneurs . The platform allows people to chat with an “AI Friend,” whether they’re using an iPhone or Android, to gauge what kind of connections they’re looking for. From there, the AI agent matches them with another Series user who fits...

Raising $2.2M In A Seed Round, This Co-Founder Dropped Out Of Yale University To Launch An AI-Powered Company To Make Automation More Accessible

DryMerge has raised $2.2 million to make automation easier with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). The company was co-founded by Edward Frazer and Samuel Brashears. The pair, who first met in elementary school, made sacrifices to focus their full attention on the company. University of Wisconsin graduate Brashears walked away from a role at Hive AI while Frazer dropped out of Yale University to pursue the venture, a press release mentions. The founders recently participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2024 Batch startup accelerator program. “…I’m a pretty young founder – I dropped out of Yale to build the company and my cofounder Sam had just graduated from the University of Wisconsin,” Frazer wrote on LinkedIn . “I knew very little about how people worked, what problems they had, or how to solve those problems — and importantly, I didn’t care — I figured it’d be enough to build cool technology and watch the users appear out of thin air.” He continued, “It wasn’t until midway...

My co-founder, Amy, was hospitalized in Thailand after taking counterfeit medicine. And Wei lost a family member due to contaminated drugs,” Alonge told TechCrunch. While students they were able to pick each other’s brains during a research and development project and found further information to validate their concerns. “100,000 Africans die from this problem every year. India Royale is not just a “baby mama.” She’s a girl boss and a boss bae, and it’s time we recognize her accomplishments. On Sept. 26, the boss bae took to Twitter to share a sentimental tweet. The axiom is as old as time itself, so it was neither here nor there. Happy Wife, Happy Life 🖤 — THE BLESSING (@indiaroyaletv) September 26, 2021 For some reason, a disrespectful fan of Lil Durk’s — Royale’s partner since 2017 — decided to get in her comments and tell her that “suh you is a baby momma.” “Loud and wrong!” replied India Royale. “We’re very much married est. November 2020.” As fans of the rising rap superstar already know, Royale has been a very integral part of Lil Durk’s life for quite some time now. Most recently, the Chicago native shouted her and her businesses out on his verse on “In The Bible,” from Drake’s much-anticipated “Certified Lover Boy” album. While growing up, the Wades were known as “The Quads,” and it wasn’t until they got to Yale that they were finally able to “branch out” and strike on their own. “In high school, we all knew the same people. So in a sense, that didn’t allow us to divert as much as we might’ve wanted to,” said Nick. “But in college, because there are so many different types of people, and we had so many different diverse interests, I think we were able to carve our paths in our own way.” In fact, the quadruplets were so set on forging different paths that they didn’t even have any introductory classes together. One set of brothers had one class together throughout the four years of their matriculation. It wasn’t guaranteed that they’d be...
