From signing a multi-year partnership deal with Audible to becoming iHeartMedia’s Senior Creative Officer of Cultural Content and Programming , the multimedia mogul is dedicated to ensuring that there are platforms for upcoming Black talent to excel and untold Black stories to be heard. According to a press release, the multi-media mogul is teaming up with TV vet Stephen Colbert to create and produce a new weekly late-night show on Comedy Central called “Tha God’s Honest Truth with Lenard ‘Charlamagne’ McKelvey” this fall. The weekly half hour late-night series will feature “Charlamagne’s culturally fluent take on social issues in a variety of deep dives, sketches, and social experiments that deftly unpacks the most pressing topics permeating politics and culture,” the press release reports. Pioneering Radio Hall of Famer and multimedia mogul Charlamagne Tha God has inked a new deal with iHeartMedia that has him moving up the ladder. Radio host and author Charlamagne Tha God has a new business venture and is once again pushing Black talent to the forefront. This week, Variety announced activist Tamika Mallory — a Time 100 honoree and co-founder of 2017’s Women’s March — plans to make her literary debut under Charlamagne Tha God’s Black Privilege Publishing — a new imprint from Atria Books at Simon & Schuster. Mallory’s book, “State of Emergency” — described as “a searing indictment of America’s historical, deadly, and continuing assault on Black lives” — will be the first literary work to be published from Charlamagne’s Black-led imprint.
