Rare Kobe Bryant Photos Are Selling As NFTs To Benefit The Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation

On the day that has been officially marked and commemorated as “Kobe Bryant Day,” never-before-seen photos of the late NBA legend are selling as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to benefit his youth sports foundation. According to Bleacher Report, an auction run by Cryptograph — a platform that sells rare digital collectibles from public figures and artists for charity — is launching a collection that includes eight photos of the Los Angeles Lakers icon. Proceeds from sales will go toward the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. Bryant’s nonprofit foundation was formed to fund sports programs in overlooked communities and create a “positive impact for underserved athletes and young women in sports,” according to its website. The organization was founded through the vision and memory of Bryant and his late daughter, Gianna. As Kobe Bryant’s life and career continue to be honored through charity initiatives and new brands, Vanessa Bryant is now further ensuring that her late husband’s legacy continues to live on. According to TMZ Sports, Vanessa is reportedly filing to trademark “KB24” to build a sports and entertainment empire for the late Kobe Bryant. The news outlet reports that she submitted documents early October of 2021 to secure the trademark. The late NBA legend’s company, Kobe, Inc., is listed as the applicant of the filing. KB24 will include digital collectible items, websites, training camps, broadcasting platforms, podcasts, TV shows, movies, documentaries, music, sports cards, food/drink containers and t-shirts. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is taking full advantage of the NFL offseason to boost his riches. According to a source close to the franchise athlete, Prescott is reportedly ending his deal with adidas to join the Jordan brand for a huge five-year contract, ESPN reports. The new deal will make the quarterback the highest-paid NFL player aligned with the brand. Kobe Bryant's Estate Parts Ways With Nike, Reportedly Files Trademarks For Footwear, Apparel And Logos

Reports this week shared that Kobe Bryant’s estate has parted ways with Nike, and it looks as though it may have a plan in motion to start its own brand. According to Complex, the estate’s Nike deal expired last week and a new contract has not been signed, seemingly ending the years-long relationship between the two. Bryant — who first signed with Nike back in 2003  — secured a five-year deal in April of 2016 that lasted through last Tuesday. The outlet reported the following statement from Nike: “Kobe Bryant was an important part of Nike’s deep connection to consumers. He pushed us and made everyone around him better. Though our contractual relationship has ended, he remains a deeply loved member of the Nike family.” CNBC reports that according to intellectual property attorney Josh Gerben, a recent analysis of the legal filings on behalf of Bryant’s estate show that over 13 trademarks have been filed since May of last year.
