Bitcoin Reaches Highest Price Since Spring At More Than $73K A Week Before Presidential Election

Bitcoin has surged to its highest level since April, reaching $73,544. Forbes reported that the Nov. 5 presidential election is among several market factors affecting the $1.4 trillion cryptocurrency, contributing to the 6% increase recorded around 3 p.m. EDT (7 p.m. GMT) on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The rise puts Bitcoin’s October gains at 13%, outpacing the S&P 500, which advanced 1% this month. Several other major cryptocurrencies and shares of companies involved in Bitcoin mining — the energy-intensive process of unlocking bitcoins from the digital blockchain — also saw significant gains Tuesday. When Quidax first launched in 2018, the African crypto exchange was entering a market that was nothing if not volatile. Morgan State University Announces Opening of First-Ever HBCU FinTech Center For Students

Morgan State University’s Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management has officially announced the opening of its new Center for the Study for Blockchain and Financial Technology — better known as the FinTech Center and the first-ever to exist at a HBCU. According to Black Enterprise, the FinTech Center first opened up in 2019. The center is now ready to commence classes this semester, which will all be dedicated to the study of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and the digital finance industry. The university will reportedly partner with Silicon Valley FinTech company Ripple and assist the Graves School of Business with building out a specialized curriculum. Yele Bademosi is dedicated to giving back to Africa. Now, with his new venture as CEO and founder of Bundle, the Nigerian born executive hopes to help unbanked citizens of Africa. Bundle is a social payments app similar to Venmo, Forbes reports . Prior to launching the financial platform last week, he quietly raised nearly half a million dollars back in September 2019 from Binance, Pave Investments, and other African investors.
