Tanya Van Court's Goalsetter Joins TeamSnap To Support Underserved Youth In Their Physical And Financial Well-Being

Goalsetter is helping to bring financial literacy to the sports world in its latest partnership.

The fintech platform has joined TeamSnap — a leading sports team management app — to support an increase of underserved youth having equal access to sport participation, according to a press release shared with AfroTech. The goal at hand is for the young athletes to have both physical and financial well-being.

Holistic Health For Young Athletes

Together, the revenue generated from family sign-ups will go to TeamSnap Impact — which is shaping the future of sports as we know it — and support community partners nationwide.

“I think that sports has always been innately a part of Goalsetter, whether it be through our partnerships with athletes and teams, or the gamification of our financial education tools,” Tanya Van Court, founder and CEO of Goalsetter shared with AfroTech. “But working with TeamSnap has really helped to highlight how acquiring healthy physical habits and acquiring healthy money habits early in life are both cornerstones to having a high quality of life as adults.”

She continued: “The same knowledge, discipline, and consistency that children practice through team sports can be applied when teaching them about budgeting, saving, and investing. Whether a student plans to play collegiate sports or become a professional athlete or not pursue sports beyond their AAU or Little League teams, understanding the key foundations of building wealth can transform their lives.”

Leveling The Playing Field For Underserved Youth

With the helping hand of Goalsetter, TeamSnap Impact will continue with its efforts including initiatives around policy formulation, direct funding, and technology grants, the press release details. It doesn’t matter what the young athletes’ background is, the community impact program wants to ensure they have a more level playing field.

“Goalsetter’s award-winning financial technology and education app is changing financial futures for young people from kindergarten to college,” Van Court said. “And TeamSnap users will have access to all of the innovative financial tools that the Goalsetter platform offers — savings, investing, financial education, and the only teen and tween debit card with weekly financial education quizzes attached to it.”
